Thanksgiving & Work

By Thor

As tomorrow is Thanksgiving, things at work this week have been exceedingly slow from a client contact perspective by surprisingly busy from a work and organization standpoint. There has been two larger deals that needed to be underwritten by me, as no one else is here or cares. As well as all the financial modeling, borrowing base updates, and little items that I needed to clear off my desk. In other words I am busy doing things I have not been able to do for weeks. For this I am thankful. A few other things I am thankful for include:

1. Family & Friends – as they are a reflection of me and push me to be better, I am thankful I have a solid support network to push me to be the best of me.

2. Job & Work – as much as I complain about the hours and the crazy people besides the drudgery of being on the bottom of the corporate ladder, I am blessed to do something I love. I am blessed to have quality customers, exciting businesses to analyze, and a challenging work environment. I want to be the best account officer, not just a good one. I enjoy it.

3. Love & Patience – I am thankful that people are patient with me and show me love. I hope that I do as much in return.

4. Dawn – the best part of waking up is simply waking up to new opportunities.

I love Thanksgiving, as there is no pressure for gifts or religious overtones but simply a day to enjoy family, friends, food, and wine a few of my favorite things. So be eat, drink and be merry tomorrow.
